History of Habersham Hardware
In 1946, a small, unused building sat facing the railroad in Cornelia, Georgia. Through the dust and noise, former U.S. Navy sailor, Paul Reeves, saw a golden opportunity to both fulfill his dream and serve the families of the growing Habersham County community. Within the year, Habersham Hardware had opened its doors.
Having worked in his brother's hardware stores located elsewhere in the country, Paul understood what it took to make a lumber and hardware center flourish. Investing heavily into the business and the surrounding community, Paul and his faithful 'family' of local employees sold lumber, tools, paint and other building products, growing their reputation as fair and ethical business people who truly cared.
Habersham Hardware Today
Today, more than 60 years later, Habersham Hardware is still located in that same building facing the railroad in Cornelia! Of course, the facility has grown to accomodate new products, new technology, and new faces to serve our customers. Additionally, Habersham Hardware also boasts a second location in Clarkesville, Georgia!
While much has changed over the years, what hasn't changed is the pioneer spirit that has guided the business through bad times and good. Ever watchful and dedicated to the community, the Habersham Hardware team is made up of local, long-term members of the community with a passion for building.
